Will you walk me home ?

The series ‘Will you walk me home?’ revolves around an intimate and collective theme: consolation in community. The image of children walking each other home is used as a symbol for the role we can play in the lives of others by walking each other home. These works speak of companionship, compassion and liberation. In a fast-paced, often chaotic and increasingly individualistic world, comfort becomes a gentle and necessary form of resistance. The bodies and gestures depicted in these paintings remind us that the act of being there for one another is profoundly human. The braided hairstyles, meanwhile, refer to an ancestral heritage: they remind us that the paths to freedom were once inscribed in hair. This care,
passed down from hand to hand, becomes a living map of dignity.
